Our town-wide Scavenger Hunt was held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 (rescheduled from October 1st due to weather). Teams of up to four people per car met at the Town Hall parking lot and were given clues to historical sites and a list of items to photograph and collect from throughout the community. The event concluded with a social gathering complete with a campfire, snacks, coffee, team and hot chocolate provided by TST members. The first and second place teams were awarded gift certificates to local area merchants. It was the perfect event for a fall evening!

Fall Wine Tasting
Our Annual Fall Wine Tasting was held on Friday, November 4, 2011, at the Stonehedge Inn on Pawtucket Boulevard in
Tyngsborough, MA. This event was generously sponsored by The Stonehedge Inn and G&G Liquors of Tyngsborough. Attendees enjoyed a
fabulous selection of wines provided by local merchants, a lively jazz
band and delicious hors d'oeuvres.
All attendees received a booklet at the event, listing the wine
distributor and selections with pricing. Orders were taken at the
event. Wine orders of 12 bottles or more received a
15% discount. G&G Liquors donated a percentage of the wine sales back to the Tyngsborough Scholarship Trust.
Please plan to join us next year for this signature event and help us raise funds for Tyngsborough's graduating seniors.
Each fall (early October through late November), the Tyngsborough Scholarship Trust (TST) sells gift card to your favorite local merchants such as Barnes & Noble, Dunkin Donuts, Macy's, The Gap, Old Navy, i-Tunes & AMC Theaters. The gift cards look just like the gift cards purchased through merchants, with the same terms and conditions. You receive dollar-for-dollar value on the cards you buy and TST receives a percentage of every dollar you spend. You can give the gift cards to those on your list, or buy them for your own use at stores or merchants you plan to shop with. 100% of the money TST earns through gift card sales is used for scholarships for the graduating seniors residing in Tyngsborough.
Our gift card order period has now ended. Thank you to all who supported this fundraiser.
In January, the Trust invites the community to match wits at their
annual Trivia Night. Teams of 4 players answer 3 rounds of
25 trivia questions, competing for the top team and bragging
rights! The evening also includes a cash bar, snacks & prizes. All proceeds directly support scholarships for Tyngsborough students.
Our next Trivia Night will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Princeton Station in North Chelmsford. Click here for a registration form to bring your trivia team on board.
Our annual Business Drive begins in February each year. Generous donations from local businesses help support the scholarships awarded each year. Businesses who donate more than $500 can have a named scholarshipgiven in the company or organization's name.
Businesses wishing to make a tax-deductible donation should send a check, payable to the Tyngsborough Scholarship Trust, to the following address: Tyngsborough Scholarship Trust, PO Box 547, Tyngsborough, MA 01879.
Questions regarding our Business Drive should be directed to Rose Mitchell via emailor by calling 978-649-3341.
Each student applying for a scholarship with the Trust must participate in our annual Door-to-Door Drive, a small town tradition of visiting each Tyngsborough household asking for their help. We ask the community to be as generous as possible and remember that all contributions are tax deductible and directly support the continuing education of our town's graduates. This drive takes place during the month of April.
Our newest event, the Holiday Marketplace, took place on November 6, 2011 from 9 am - 2 pm at the Tyngsborough Elementary School. This was the marketplace's 8th year as an annual event offering exhibitors of handcrafted items, gift and decorative items, as well as business services and representatives of home-based business workforce. The event was newly organized in 2011 by the TST. 40 vendors participated and the community came out for some early holiday shopping and cheer. Thanks to all who supported this event!
